thanks turbotodd..I'll check valve clearance too..changed plugs still no good fire/spark gonna work on the points and condenser..my friend that is helping me ...well he has been tied up a lot so maybe he'll be able to help me more after Sept.again thanks for the help.

Ok if the walls are still good and i can get by with a good honing ,then what, get some over size rings.surely that should'nt be too expensive..

i hear ya Johny..i,'m gonna do it myself ..have a machine shop bore it out, idk whats the norm 30 over.buy new rings/pistons i guess lap the valves kinda like rebuilding a go cart/lawn mower motor sound like a good challenge to me unless it to expensive.

K..i never thought about the plugs wires being crossed.thanks I'll check that and get back to ya.. i wonder how much would it would cost to rebuild this motor..prolly more than its worth.idk

i hear ya,we checked the compression and it had like 60/65 this may be the problem..i know what you are talkin bout Shawn ...this motor is immaculate but it wont hit a lick :cry:

I have a B-75 Honda 4 stroke that will not crank I can't get it to even hit a little by spraying carb cleaner directly into the cylinder or into the carb.it's getting a good spark on both plugs so my only conclusion is low compression.My question is, what is good enough compression to crank and...

I installed a new impeller/water pump in a 9.9 merc,looking down the shaft in a clockwise direction..it will not pump water out the discharge tube, there is no obstruction in the discharge tube,so i thought maybe the thermostat was stuck shut,so i took it out sprayed some deep creep on it and...

alright guys here's what i got..sr# ODO88O_ _ _ ,,ok that's 9 digits, im unable to find any sr# that's starts with a zero or the letter 0..however I did find a sr# that started the the letter D. So I think it is a 1992 year model but not positive..any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
