The side console and center console 2072 is rated for a 115. But the plain jon with a tiller is 60. Thats kinda weird considering their 1860 jon is also rated for a 60 tiller.

Has anyone been out in a Grizzly 2072 AWL? They are only rated for a 60 hp tiller, but with a 3 degree hull it might still get up and run ok. Whats everyone elses thoughts?

I thought the power ratings were with the jet. But, I have read comments here from people saying that the 25 HP jet is not a true 25 HP jet. ???

Had it running a few weeks ago. Went to start it yesterday with no luck. Got fresh fuel thats getting to the plugs. I believe its getting spark as it wil fire every now and than stop. Any suggestions? Gettin frustrated and thinking of throwing in towl and taking to mechanic.

I guess I was a bit misleading with my original post. The lower unit didnt actually have water in it. The old fluid was just broke down. Runny and dirty. No leaks that I know of.

I drained out the old fluid today and it was pretty watery and milky. I started to fill it back up and it was almost running out instantly. It didnt take nearly the amount that came out. I had a 8 oz tube and it probably didn't use half of that. Should it hold more or is that all those little...

Mercury makes a big tiller setup. People are running 250 hp tillers on their lake boats. But yes Johny, I was talking about smaller tins that are rated for 15/25 or 45/65.

Well I found my answer from outboard jets. You lose 30% hp to run the jet. For example a 50 is now a 35. But a 35hp jet will only have about 80% of a 35 props performance. So a 35 jet would perform like a 28 prop motor.

With all things equal will a jet of equal hp still lack quite of bit of performance compared to a prop motor?

I'm curious why the HP ratings are always lower for a tiller as they are for remote? I've thought about weight or maybe balance? Most boats mount the consoles right where you would sit if you were running a tiller so that doesnt make sense?
