i picked up this boat yesterday and i want to make it into a duck boat for hunting in the marsh. it has a couple hole in it how would you fix that. i plan on putting the middle seat back in and putting a small little deck on the front for support to hold the bow together i want to put a floor into it and a couple storage commpartments for guns etc. i also plan on doing some fishing out of the boat to if anyone has and ideas please help.

OK.That's a solid hull.If you are considering decks,I would go up to the ridge that runs all the way down the sides of the boat.I would use aluminum angle to support the wood deck and seat bases. The back can be decked also.I would only deck the back out far enough to set on the edge of it to steer.I prefer to use aluminum and stainless steel hardware bed in 3M 5200 marine sealant.Wood is heavy.Only use exterior woods, don't use pressure treated. It has copper in it and will cause corrosion really quick.I'm sure there will be more response after the weekend is over.
