hello,
i have a 14ft jon boat and i am planning to put in a deck in it and was wondering if i used aluminum square tubeing 1x1 can i just solder it to the boat, like the sides of the boat or will it hurt the boat in any way , the boat is thick aluminum on the sides and stuff.

THANK you!

Solder you mean with a soldering Iron? I don't really think it would hold that great, Try welding and or pop rivet. Also, use little L brackets and screw the framing to the ribs.

i am planning to use aluminum 1x1 square tubing for the frame for the deck and soldering the tubeing to the sides with supper alloy solder from https://www.muggyweld.com/?view=pricelist and was wondering if it would be ok to do that or if it would hurt the boat when i take it out on the river

Just my 2¢
I riveted my framing to the boat ribs. And welded other various parts. Reason behind: the boat HAS to have a little flex while on the water and while trailering. Just like torsion on a 4x4 truck. I figure the rivets give it a little wiggle room. But i have my deck elevated inches from the gunwale with various hatches and lids. Most of those are welded.
I feared being out on the water and a weld breaking or cracking and something falling.
