ok so i bought a 1982 16ft grumman side console v-hull in april.it has a casting deck on it but needs to be replaced and up graded with storage . im also going to deck the back of the boat . ill post pictures of the inside as soon as i can. the boat is very wide very stable so with that said . what type of wood would you use for the framing of the decks . i.e 2x2's 2x4 's . 3/4 ply ?

thanks

I used 2x2s and 1/2" ply check my build out it's in my signature. It's sound like you a planning on doing something like what I did.

I went with the 2x3 option and am convinced it was the correct thing to do on my project.

i kinda am but im not removing the bench seats . you boat looks real good

Use aluminum for the framing, 1/2" ply for decking. If your dead set on wood, go w/ 2x2.
