Without getting nerdy, if you try to keep the brace at a 45 degree angle to both the side & bottom (as much as the non-triangular shape of the boat will allow) you should do alright.I've seen v-hull builds where guys run storage areas along the irregular section of the sides above their flat floor line and conceal the angled bracing within the storage - comes out looking very clean while still giving you the rigidity you need to handle waves.</blockquote>
