Ok guys. I am totally new here. I have been reading this site for about 4 moths and decided to give it a go at customizing a boat. I found a 16' V-hull boat with a trailer and 35 HP Mercury for $300. I thought it was a steal myself. I have been working on it this last week (as you can see in the pictures below) and I think I am ready for the inside modifications. I still have some minor touch ups on the trailer and outside of the boat. I know most on here don't like the Herculiner on the outside but I went with it due to some people around here who have loved it and the fact that I didn't want to wait on ordering the steel flex. I might take some heat for painting the boat flat black but I thought it turned out well and I am usually not fishing at high noon when it is 95+ outside here in TN! I would like some input for the inside part. I have bought marine grade 3/4 plywood and some 2x4's for bracing. I have also bought some marine grade sealer for all wood to be used as well as some grey carpet for the inside. I am kind of lost as to how I should build the bottom frame for the floor. I have seen people on here angle their 2x4's so that they lay width wise but I am afraid that might put some pressure on the outside walls? I have already removed the middle bench to make an open floor area. I am hoping to build a live well on one side of the boat and storage on the other side. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated!
