I have been following this website for a long time now and waiting to get a boat. I have lucked into what I think is a good boat set up to meet all my needs. It is a 1976 14' v hull sea nymph, powered by a 1976 Mercury 110 9.8 HP on a 1976 sterling trailer. My father-in-law and I bought it from his dad. My F-in-law grew up fishing on this boat. It has made over 30 trips to Canada from Pittsburg and 1 trip from Pittsburg to Delaware.
I want to use this boat for lots of things. My f-in-law just wants to fish (bobbers and bait and troll) and cruse around with the wifes and I and my daughter. I want the same but more. I want to use it to bass fish, duck hunt from, get to duck blinds in the marsh and get to backwater deer hunting spots.
My plan right now is to use all aluminum and camo spray in bed liner if I can find it. I have a place I can get the aluminum pretty cheep. I plan to leave the factory seats in because my father-in-law would like to leave the boat pretty much the same. I want to have a platform up front and in back.
I am trying to upload some pictures. I have some drawings but I have no way to get them on here. If I use 1/4 inch aluminum I can use less bracing than If I use thinner aluminum correct? What do you all think would be the best way for me to go about setting up this boat for all my uses and also to have the mod removable/changeable for my uses?
