I have been following this website for a long time now and waiting to get a boat. I have lucked into what I think is a good boat set up to meet all my needs. It is a 1976 14' v hull sea nymph, powered by a 1976 Mercury 110 9.8 HP on a 1976 sterling trailer. My father-in-law and I bought it from his dad. My F-in-law grew up fishing on this boat. It has made over 30 trips to Canada from Pittsburg and 1 trip from Pittsburg to Delaware.

I want to use this boat for lots of things. My f-in-law just wants to fish (bobbers and bait and troll) and cruse around with the wifes and I and my daughter. I want the same but more. I want to use it to bass fish, duck hunt from, get to duck blinds in the marsh and get to backwater deer hunting spots.

My plan right now is to use all aluminum and camo spray in bed liner if I can find it. I have a place I can get the aluminum pretty cheep. I plan to leave the factory seats in because my father-in-law would like to leave the boat pretty much the same. I want to have a platform up front and in back.

I am trying to upload some pictures. I have some drawings but I have no way to get them on here. If I use 1/4 inch aluminum I can use less bracing than If I use thinner aluminum correct? What do you all think would be the best way for me to go about setting up this boat for all my uses and also to have the mod removable/changeable for my uses?

Ok here is some pics. Fire away please. Probably going to redo the transom wood, probably use aluminum with stainless hardware.

Anybody out there? Appreciate any thoughts.

Nice boat, I have the same boat. My dad bought it in 1978 when I was 10. It has been around. It is now mine after my dad passes away last September. I have been searching this site for just the right mod. I am planning a deck in the front and the back, not quite sure yet, still working on it. I also am not going to take out any of the original seating, just cover it up. If you have done some mods I would love to see some pics. Here is mine before any mods.

Hey Guys the boat looks great. I bought one from a friend of mine for me and my kids to go out in the everglades and fish. I think it looks good for a 76'. Zero leaks. Not one drop of water. I cleaned it up and put a casting deck along with floor. I will post some pics of the finished product. These are pics of the boat with out the casting deck.
