I just picked up a 1987 Lowe open v-bottom fishing boat that needs the wood replaced in the transom. It looks like it will be a project using bolts, rivets and welds and I have never tackled something like this but want to restore the boat so looking for advice. I plan on using 3/4" marine plywood to build the transom board. Bolts are easy with the SS and epoxy to isolated it from the boat but any advice on rivets and welds would be great.. going to be digging around for a good welder as well..
