Just bought a 1985 14' Jon boat sea nymph V hull for 400$ with trailer I think it's a great deal just Need some step by step instruction on building a raised deck and flat bottom. My biggest question I the side supports how do you secure it to the boat ??

I live in San Antonio tx if anyone is selling a inexpensive motor that would be great

Thanks again

I have seen many different ways in which to accomplish what you want to do. It all depends on what your boat looks like inside, the material you plan on using, how high you want the deck, what you want the deck to look like......etc..... and the list goes on.

Throw up some pics of the boat inside and out and the suggestions will follow.

Congrats on the boat and welcome!

Take a look around in the build thread and you can see many ways of doing things that you're looking to add to your boat. I'd suggest fishing out of it for a bit if you just got it so you can be sure of what you want!

Use 1 inch alumimum tube to make a free standing deck, you can then atach that to the exzisting front bech and then add alumimum tread plate or other alumimum sheet for the deck.Weld the tube or if no able to weld, bolt the 1 inch tube together and ten use rivit to atach the alumimum plate toit.i did this like stated above and is premo

Stay away from useing heavy wood framework and plywood construction covered with carpit as that is very heavy, will rot and a waist of money and time.
