5052 aluminum sheet for floor and front deck

youll have to give it plenty of structural support. .063 is mighty thin- aluminum boats are made out of at least .080

give it plenty of support and it will probably work out well for you- but the amount of support that you could do away with by simply bumping up material thickness may make it worth your while.

Use 1/8" (.025") with braces on 10-12" centers and you will be fine. Thinner plate ends up costing you more because of all the extra bracing you need to make it solid.

I'm researching this as well and had a question isn't .250" 1/4" and 1/8"
.125" ? But 1/8 is the best for floor decking ? So many sizes to choose from it gets confusing fast. .063,.080

i believe the alumacraft welded and grizzly boats are made from .100. its different from .125 but not that different- but a MILE away from .063.
