Same with Fedex, but seems like it comes down to if the driver gives a damn or not. The Fedex driver is a kindly older lady who looks to have a few years on me. Feel sorry for her having to work so hard at her advanced age. Also it seems like Fedex puts no shelves in their trucks. When she throws open the door it looks like the town dump with stuff scattered everywhere. No wonder stuff gets messed up. One time she had 3 loose tires in the back that were bouncing all around on top of the boxes.As for $40/hr UPS jobs, as somebody who once tried to get one of those I can tell you they put you through sheer hell, for years, before you get one of those cushy driver jobs. Around here you start off working on the dock, which can many times be below 0 in the winter. You are on 24 hour call, 7 days a week and when they call you have ONE hour to show up. No show once, get probation. 2nd time you're done. The only guarantee you have is 8 hours between shifts. If I remember right you don't even get benefits at first because they won't give you enough hours to qualify.</blockquote>
