OK just picked up a 93 bass tracker off of CL. Seemed to be in ok shape supposedly was formerly used as a rescue boat for a fire CO. It had a custom made light rack with spotlights on it. First thing I did when I got in my garage was start taking the rack off as I really didn't like it. underneath where the feet of the rack were I find these cracks in the welds... Now obviously these need to be addressed and I do indeed want to fix them the correct way. So first question is can they just be re-welded? My 2nd question is; our last bass club tournament is tomorrow morning, is it safe to use this boat once before we start tearing into it over winter? Or could we end sinking tomorrow? The crack on the left side is about 2.5 inches and the one on the right is about 1. The first picture shows exactly what piece these are in as I don't really know what it would be called. Any input is greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

Go for it!

Doesn't look like a big deal to weld up. It looks like it broke because the rack was mounted to the splash well. It's hard to tell how structural it is from the pics. I'd just do some surface prep and weld them up. Just make sure to get all the combustibles out of the area.
