Alot of what we "know"comes from reading what others(people, articles, etc) have said on the internet.
Here is an interesting debate regarding the size your batteries should be when running in parallel.

More or less one person is saying that it doesn't matter if there the same ah(100/50?) value, there in parallel and connected together, same with charging.
I can find all kinds of articles/posts saying different but this does seem to make sence.Maybe I learned something today...going camping won't be back till Sunday,i'll find out more then.

I re-wired a buddies Lowe Lake 1436. It had two batteries in individual boxes w/ one on the TM and the other just for accessories. After having to change them around in the middle of a windy lake to get back to the dock I decided to re-work the setup.

Putting the TM in parallel and splitting the switched accessories between the two, we never had a problem fishing all day. Matched batteries discharged evenly and it seemed to have a greater reserve as they worked together. I don't think they need to be the same size 'cept the overall total capacity would be less if one was smaller.
