Wow!! What a day!! We started at a little shell island boating about 10 1-3lbs Speckled Trout and one Redfish (guessing 30lbs) that desided to go south and never checked up breaking Matt's line. Next stop was a 5 mile long rock jetty with little marshy islands dotting the jetty. It wasn't a crazy bite, but steady 2-4lbs Specks were hitting the ice chest. Every point we trolling motored by held a Redfish or two. There is nothing like setting a hook into a Red and have him yank 30+ yards of drag before you realize what is happening. We ended the day limiting out on Specks and a limit of Reds. It was one of the heaviest limits I've caught in a long time. We filled a 120 quart ice chest with trout and had to get our drinks and snacks out of the seat ice chest to make room (a good problem to have ). Normally we wouldn't keep that many but everyone wanted some for different fish fries.
