Hi, I’m new to boating and was hoping to get some help on my trailer setup.

Thanks in advance!

The previous owner had the stern and bunks sitting about 2ft off the back of the trailer. He connected the stern straps directly to the bunks(see pic). I replaced the bunks from 7’ to 8’ and moved the boat 1ft closer. I would appreciate some advice on the following:

Are the boat and bunks in a good position on the trailer or should they move?

If the position is good, is it better to connect the stern straps from the stern handles to the bunks like the previous owner directly below or wrap them underneath and connect to the trailer? Not sure if the sharp angle hurts with stability/safety.
