I just picked up a 25xd (think it's an 84) for $300 and plan to throw it on my 1548. The question I have is I found an 84 merc 20 that's being parted out, anyone know if that tiller handle would fit on my motor?

Also it came with two 11 pitch props, what should I be running between 5000 and 8000 feet in altitude (utah)

Thanks for anything!

Looking at this parts diagram, and what it shows at the top of the page, it appears the same parts are used on the 18/20/25. You'll have to decide whether you trust this info or not though.

altitude doesent matter, check the wot operating range( rpm's) for that model and use the prop that acheives the range for that model. remember, less pitch=more rpm's more pitch=less rpm's over revving or under revving will damage the motor by either making it run to hard or work very hard trying to get the right rpm's at wot
