Message: <blockquote data-quote="Still Afloat" data-source="post: 507578" data-attributes="member: 32426">I drove to Cabelas this evening to pick up the Helix 9 that I ordered last weekend.  While there I played around with the demo FF units.  I really do like the GUI/menu system and touch screen on the Lowrance units.  It’s well laid out and super easy compared to scrolling through page after page on the Humminbirds.  The screen graphics might be marginally better on the Helix 9 but, in all fairness I didn’t play around with display settings on the Lowrance.I wasn’t impressed enough with the live imaging on either unit to want to spend a 1000 bucks or more for it.  Maybe that technology will mature in a few years or a good deal on a used mega live transducer will come my way.It’s hard to get a feel for 2D on a demo unit but, they looked very similar  Can’t say that one looked better than the other.  DI/SI looked about the same as well.  Maybe the Helix was marginally sharper.</blockquote>
