I have a 46lb on a 17' boat that weighs in excess of 1200 lbs. It works fine in all but gale force winds.

A 35lb would be fine for a 12 footer unless you want to intertube behind it.

Sounds like a good deal, and would be a nice fit for your 12 footer. You don't have to over-do it...snatch the deal if you can.

Just picked it up, barely a scratch, tested in on his truck battery, a sweet deal I think 75 bucks, patience is a new thing for me.... deals are around, money is tight out there. looking for a trailer next....

Way to go! Like you said, there are deals out there, you just have to be patient and willing to walk away. In this case, I think you got a great deal, especially for a near new trolling motor.

That will push your boat just fine,I've had the same one on my 14' for
a long time and it works great.
