Message: <blockquote data-quote="Nohasslekindaguy" data-source="post: 349862" data-attributes="member: 10078"><p>If it's jumping out of gear it may be a worn shifter dog in the gearcase.  I think you posted before about converting to short shaft.  It can be done.  You will need a short driveshaft and possibly short shifter and water tube.  I think some models had extensions instead of completely different parts.  It would also be a good time to inspect the water pump and gearcase seals while it's apart.  You could probably sell the longshaft parts on ebay.  I paid $80 for the parts when I converted mine.</p></blockquote><p></p>
