let me start by saying sorry it not a tin boat but i'm really thankful for the help and appreciation you guys also had for those of us who have glass.i will happily stand in the corner with these excellent craftsmen.OK so Ive been talking for weeks about my conversion here all the before pics. to start Ive found it in a little rougher shape than i thought mainly the trailer needs care. but for starters the out board is being stripped off and i m only mounting a trolling motor. i will low deck it.i m thinking a live-well/cooler. definitely pedestal seats. those are what will be completed this season. so let me know what you think. again sorry its glass

Don't be Sorry! You can hang out in the corner with the rest of us Glass guys.. We'll discuss our plot to take over while the rest of the "Tin" guys are drinking beer.

Now there's a hull with LOTS of potential! Are you going to set it up for pure fishing, fore and aftdecks and such, or for some day cruising as well? I like the look of the slightly angled aft area/deck already, kinda like a little tumblehome. Good place for all the fuel cans and batteries.

Is the transom in good shape? That would be the first thing I check. It looks like it is capped, lots of potential, cool stuff.

Thanks all. Yes it will be a pure fishing boat I'm up in the air right now wether to split the two sections right Now or not. It may mess with the riggidness. The transom is in great shape the only issues I found was were the roller spider crack the under hull. Which I'll block her up and yank out the trailer this weekend. It will get fully decked and livewell will go in just not sure how I'll go about it yet. But I'll be starting with a good cleaning and doing the glassing this weekend. Continue to post pics of my progress througout.

I just boat the same exact motor. Hopefully I can find the controls and cables for it.

Removing the front bow deck would mess with the rigidity, but if you are adding a casting deck it would be *very* easy to add a frame and get the stiffness you need back. Especially if you are going to leave the gunnels in place, which I would do just because it makes such a handy spot to mount stuff like cleats, rod holders, beer holders...

OK well its been over a year since my last post about my boat but that's life and work. Its time for an update in the past year Ive gone through 600 different ideas over what to actually do with it. Ive scrapped many ideas mainly due to size. its only 13' 4 so Ive cut out the live well idea and under deck storage. if i did need them i would use a modified cooler in the boat and i already bought a huge tackle bag for storage (holds 12 3700's). so that cut down on cost as well. not that cost was a huge factor. so all in all ive come up with what i think is a good idea.
starting with the top hull cut away from the bottom.

some shop vac work to clean the template. and a ton of measurements
SDC11325.jpg

rough cut bow framing

And more rough cut over the rear seats

The finished framework

All in all a decent weekend to start off with. next weekend it will be time to put the sheeting template down and cut the deck itself. then to set the carpet in on it. The original plan was a TM only boat but i had i decent offer on a 6 hp merc i couldn't pass up so that's on its way ill set that up on in a couple weeks. hopefully it wont be another year before i post more progress but its seem to be coming along now.
