My first Tinny! Old SEARS 12'er. traded for a shotgun. No leaks, some dents (of course). Came with a 35lb thrust Motorguide trolling motor.

So far I have added a casting platform with hatch out of PT Plywood and outdoor mold free carpet, and fresh paint. Sanded, 2 coats primer and just did 2 coast of gloss khaki. I am putting 3 coats of Plasti Dip for the rails, and truck bed liner for the bow to see if it helps with sound dampening. This will be mainly for fly fishing in the flats here in Panama City Beach for Reds & Trout. Looking for a 9.9hp for the winter

Adding bow & stern lights this weekend, (still trying to figure the wiring crap).

First off, Welcome Aboard, Scottie. We are glad you are here. You did some nice looking work on your tin. You will hear for sure that PT is a no-no around aluminum as the copper in the treatment often leads to severe corrosion. But I will leave that to your judgement. As far as wiring goes, check out some of the more recent posts on the Electrical forum and use the search function (top right of the page) and you will find some very good tutorials. Good luck and good fishing.

CRAP! Well I guess I will start to look more in depth on the PT situation then.

Thanks

Before you trash it, look around for some barrier material to put between the wood and the hull.

Heck, even strips of tire inner-tube would work if you could do it neatly. Lots of plastics might work--some smart guy could use sliced PVC pipe, or some sliced hose lengths to separate the wood from the aluminum.

Have fun, be safe...and watch the weight of the motor you put on the back of a 12' boat--with gas and human, gets a bit heavy.
