Yesterday (12th) fished Beltzville Lake, My day started at 4am, departed my buddies house at 5 am, arrived at the lake 6.35 and started fishing by 7, I hooked up with-in the 1st five minutes but due to a whimpy hook set the bass got off  I managed to get what I considered a decent rockbass but in real fishing terms we caught the skunk. We bugged out at 12.45 and I walked in my front a little after 3

This lake was beautiful, water was crystal clear and deep (we saw 54 ft), seeing boulders and laydowns in 13 ft of water sorta blew me away, a huge rip-rap, the feeder creeks were flowing full tilt sounding like a waterfalls, us South Jersey boyz were certainly out of our elements. We did get a chance to open up his motor (50 hp) which was SWEET!!!!
so even though we caught the skunk Mother Nature made my day.

We tried our luck today (13th) at a local establishment(Cooper River) and again due to a whimpy hook-set I lost one but on the next bite I crossed fishys eyes and managed to land a dink(ew)Sad two days of fishing but glad to get out. Heres some pictures of Beltzville.

Some days are like that. In a one fish tourney on Tuesday, all I could get was one 11 incher. First tourney I have ever fished that I went to the weigh in with absolutely nothing. I have had a few 5 fish tourneys that I weighed in one fish, and even one pair tourney, where my buddy caught all 5, and I didn't find a keeper, but I have never gone to a weigh in where my team (be it a one man team, or two man team), didn't weigh something.

That long shoreline of riprap sure looks enticing. Not this time of year, but I can see times when that would be nice. Throw one laydown or brushpile right in the middle of it somewhere, and there are sure to be fish.

I guess we should have paid more attention to the electronics, That place showd 84 ft. is some places.

It was a tuff day, you'll have that, but man thats a beautiful place, the sound and sight of those feeder creeks rushing into the lake was worth the trip to me. We did see some beds but didnt throw anything at them.
