Flooding Mercury

can anyone give some advise re my 1972 Merc 20hp is flooding and hard to start, is there any mixture adjustments on Carb tthat I can make to help rectify this.

Sounds like you have a bad float or float valve, I doubt that adjustment will help. Carb rebuild kits are inexpensive and it is an easy task.

I had the same problem with my motor when I bought my boat and it was a pin hole in float. Open carb and see if float has gas in it. Float is like 3 bucks.
