I just bought a 14' mirrocraft deep fisherman.. It came with decking done but was junk from sitting outside without a cover on it since 1985.. So yesterday we started to redo the decking to find out how big of pain in the butt this is going to be.. I have looked on this site, internet, and even bought the Jon boat bass boat conversion e-book. But still doesn't help me with a deep v.. I don't want any high casting decks.. The other problem is the original seats are kind of cheaply made with foam under them. The seats are three pieces of wood with aluminum over them then the foam. My idea was to mount the alum seat mounts with so I can take my seats off or move them around but with the setup right now no can do I think I would split the existing wood. Pics to come for ideas need help..

Use pieces of string between your seats at the level you want your framing, measure them off the seats so they're (strings) level with the gunwales. Cut your framing to fit inside the hull at whatever spacing you want/need, just keeping them running at the same height as the strings.

Make your flooring thick enough to add 3/4" pin bases, and stick your seat posts in them when you need a seat there.

Looking at the pics, it doesn't look as bad as you said. Is that framework in the bottom of the boat what came with the boat, or have you added that recently? The wood seems to be in good shape.
