Picked up this 10' by 48" Gamefisher Semi V boat. Came with a Gamefisher 3HP. Took it to a small lake near my home and buzzed around a bit. Boat/motor combo performed very well. Should make a nice small lake and river rig. Only problem is the seats are too close together for myself and another guy. After looking at alot of the projects on this forum i've decided to demo the rear seat and build a raised platform from the front seat into the bow seat of the boat. (I think leaving the middle bench will keep the rigidity of the boat intact) One of the up sides to being only a 10' is two of us can easily carry it to a river access with no ramp, so I hope to keep the weight down as much as possible. I've used carpeted plywood in the past but a sheet of that can really add weight. Anyone have a suggestion on a strong deck material? Diamond Plate? Plastic Livestock Grating? I'll try and keep this updated as the project moves along.

I have a 12' very similar to that and I love it. I would keep your deck low or maybe make it a floor instead. I stood on my front bench to see what a deck would be like and it was very unstable. Standing on the floor of the boat as is, is just fine and is the way I fish most of the time.
