I am wondering if there is any way that I can hook this up to my deep cycle battery and use it on my boat at night? Is it dangerous?
One like these:

You'd have to get a power invereter from 12v to 120v and it would probably completely drain the battery in a short time.

if your wanting to use it to attract baitfish to the surface a high preassure sodium light is the way to go they attract lots of baitfish and are more brighter than a halogen light. The only downside to this is a marine battarie wont last long with a big light like this, we use a generator to run this light

I used some driving lights that I picked up at attwoods farm supply. 25 bucks and the came with the mounting hardware swith wire and fuse. Then I also installed a 12 volt power port to plug in a spot light if I need to. The headlights will work great for checking jugs at night and they dont pull alot of juice...

Thanks, that is probably what I will go with along with a spot light powered by an 18 volt lithium battery.
