Hey guys great site.Putting deck in jonboat do most of you try to level with front seat or follow contour of boat.

I'm trying to level with front seat for consistency.

I tried to level from front seat but that will put the rear of the deck real close to the top.Was wondering what other people did

For my current build I am raising the front deck to be just below the gunnels. The last 16" will be level with the top of the gunnels so that the TM can hang over the front. Decided to raise the whole deck at the front instead of just the TM mount.

How does it sit in the water for starters?

I suggest going with the boat. I tried to level mine and it would have been above the boat. You won't notice a slight slope in the water..
