To the contrary the transom mount bracket changes the leverage and ads more strain on the transom than having the motor mounted directly.  Not to mention the force needed to  move the thing up and down..  Tohatsu is pretty good about putting their owners manuals and specs on-line and they make the newer mercs and nissans as well..</blockquote>
