LED Navigation Lights vs USCG

This is not my boat . . . .

new boat owner, first project is to upgrade everything.
add all kinds of bells and whistles.

what do you see (right or wrong) with these LED running lights that the
USCG may (or may not) pull him over for questioning. (on the water).

Uhhhhh .you mean besides installed on the wrong sides of the boat?

What you do ... or someone else do ... take a selfie in a mirror :roll: ?

They're also positioned too far forward, as the nav lights must be visible from dead ahead to about 4 o'clock down & around the side, thinking it is 112.5 degrees abaft IIRC the Colregs correctly.

They are find so long as you do not turn them on or run after dark :LOL2:

It's OK, just flip the boat upside down, then the lights will be correctly oriented. :mrgreen: :LOL2:

LOL I ran across the ad on E-Bay.
(I knew something wasn't quite right about it).
my mind's eye was so focused on the brightness and orientation of
the front to back viewing area that it did not dawn on me that they were reversed.
I don't know if the photo was reversed or the owner, in his haste, actually installed them backwards.


We have an old Navy joke . . . .
what makes the PORT Light Green ?? The green lens or the green light bulb ???

I think the pic is reversed, the winch handle is on the wrong side, and I don't know that boat model well, but I would guess the 'passenger's' windshield would be taller and the drivers would be the shorter one.
