Was out over the weekend after dark doing some catfishing and noticed how the bugs reacted to my lights. I have LED navigation lights and red LED interior lights. This was the first time I've been out in warm weather after dark, so it was interesting to see how the bugs reacted to the different color lights. I went back and fort several times on what color to get for my interior lights and with some advice on here went with red. I'm sure glad I did!! Here is a pic of the bow of my boat. Obviously Ggeen nav lights on the starboard side and red nav lights on the port side. Not sure how well the picture shows it, but all of the bugs were swirling around my green nav light and not a single one was attracted to the red. They also liked my anchor light. Just something to think about if your trying to decide on what color interior lights to get for your boat.

Same thing with amber lights. When I switched to amber for my cabin lights the bug problem went away. I'm not saying there are no bugs at all, but not like they were with a white light. I also use two lanterns and the dead bugs around those look like carpet on my deck by the end of the night.
