Firstly, you have a really great site here with a ton of great info. Secondly, I am new to the site and I look forward to sharing my progress on my Lowe 1436 modification. I have ran into a little roadblock with pedestal seat installation and reinforcement and am looking for some ideas. I have not removed any of the bench seats. I am mounting a swivel mount and seat to the rear bench to run the tiller motor from. In the middle section, I am using 3/4" plywood laid on top of the factory ribs. I wanted to keep the center of the boat as low as possible for stability reasons. The front has a newly built plywood deck that runs from the front, back to the middle bench seat. This deck has been built to bench seat height. I have built a support platform under the front deck with 1" schedule 40 pvc. This really has made a stout front deck. I will get some pics of it and post them up. I want to mount a pin-lock seat base plate on the bow deck and another base in the center of the middle low deck. I am trying to get some ideas on how to support these pin lock bases so that the mounting screws do not pull out of the plywood. I don't believe one layer of plywood will keep these things in place over time. I had thought about mounting a larger piece of plywood under the floor at the seat mount location and using some type of toggle bolt configuration to secure it with. Or, use some stiff aluminum angle attached to the factory ribs to create a support platform for the middle base plate.I want to make sure I do this right the first time. All the carpeted decks will be removable, so if I need to change something in the future I can without ruining anything. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated. Thanks in advance. I am in the process of getting some pics up to show my progress.
