I want to change the opening on the bow of my G 3 1756 from circular to rectangle. There’s the pic of the current opening and the blade I was thinking about using. Before I do the cut, do you think:

A. Is it worth it?

B. More difficult than I think?

C. Correct tool?

Thanks!

Yep, oscillating tool will do just fine. You'll want a square blade though, the radius of the round one will leave cut marks in the corners.

I would mark it out good with painters tape and have at it, smooth it up with a file if need be. You can buy that vinyl edge trim stuff online.

If you can tuck the wires out of harm's way, and if there's room, you might could use a metal blade in a jig saw. More control I think. Maybe put masking tape on the sole plate so you don't make scratches. The pro guys have these nifty "nibblers" that attach to a power drill. They're pretty cool.
