I've been doing a lot of reading about everything you've said about the motor length, planing, and shallow water and all that. I will sell the Johnson motor. I'm sure someone else could make good use of it. It just doesn't sound like it fits what I want to use it for. I bought a mud motor kit and a predator 212 to go with it. Maybe in the future, ill find a short shaft outboard just to have more options. Here's my new setup. I tested it yesterday in my yard. Haven't put it in the water yet.</blockquote>
