Hello all...
I just recently acquired an old school (1960) semi-v aluminum jon boat. It was a little beat up, with what looked to be JB weld over a couple nicks in the boat. Overall the boat seems to be in workable condition. My first project, which I have already began, was to strip the inside of the boat down to the bone, flip it over and begin scraping all the old paint and JB Weld off. When that it completed, I will fill the boat, to find the leaks (which I am sure exist), and have the boat welded water tight, and possibly a couple reinforcements along the original bench seats. I will be posting my progress as I go, and am looking for any insight, as I am new to this sort of project. I hope it all pans out, as it will be a fishing boat for myself (of course), as well as for taking my two young children out. Looking forward to the long project ahead, as well as hearing ya'lls ideas and insight. Talk at ya'll later!
