i know there is a way please help hey guys i have a 20 ft cobia and i just tore the old floor out and i cant really afford to fiberglass i got pressure treated wood how can i am carpeting over it how can i seal the wood without fiber guys

ty guys a bunch in advance

Urethane, paint, soak the end grain in catalized resin. Carpet glue alone will help a bit, but nothing you do will really keep it from getting wet and rotting again.

can you link me to what Urethane is and how many years do you think i will get out of my boat also i planned on marine cocking everything crack and useing thompson water seal on both side do you think that will help at all

Use Helmsman Spar Urethane. Works better then thompsons. 3-5 coats on all wood will get you many years of use.

3m 5200 for marine use. Or, you can get gluvit or coat-it and do all the seams inside the boat. Any loose rivets need to be fixed or replaced. Any large holes or cuts should be fixed correctly first.

I used 5200 on inside seams and used coat-it on bottom of boat, on all seams and rivets.

That's the best way. Soak the floor with resin first that will allow it to soak into the wood. Then lay your glass and wet it out with resin. Do both sides and it will last much longer.

so resin then mat then resin im new to glass as well is there anywhere i can watch a video on how to do it the best

yes, but don't let the first resin coat get hard. The wood will soak a good amount of resin up. Have your mat pre cut. Don't mix it too hot and use a roller to apply it, this will speed it up.
I did this for a living since '88. I don't have any video, but I think you get the idea.
