Need model # for 25HP Johnson Impeller

Having trouble figuring this out...

I have a 1984 Johnson 25HP Seahorse.

I've searched and I'm finding several different models, some impellers look skinny and some look thick, I want to make sure I'm getting the right one.

The process to change it looks simple enough, I just don't want to get it apart and find out I have the wrong part.

Your serial number will help you a lot. It will tell you exactly what year and model you are looking for. Some motors have added number or letters that distinguish them apart....(e.i....LX or LS or ES or SA).

If all else fails, pull yours out and look at the number on it. That way you will know without a doubt that you are ordering the correct one.

I would buy the OEM water pump kit. It works for all '84 25 hp models listed...

I called Sierra and got the cross reference numbers.

w/o housing = 18-3401

w/ Housing = 18-3383

Have seen lots of minor differences in Sierra pump parts. Some, in the vintage engines, will literally not fit properly.
There is NO substitute for the OEM kit. What is your powerhead worth compared to a cheaper pump impeller?
