hey all love the site, looking for some help with my build... 1977 14' mirrocraft deep v, I've got some questions and am having one heck of a time locating info pertaining to my build...
1) theres four bench seats in my boat... i'd like to stretch a casting deck from the second bench to the front of the boat, i was wandering about building material, whats your thoughts on aluminum diamond plate vs carpeted plywood? is there any other materials i should consider?
2)seating... most of the time there will be only two people in the boat, however three maybe four will eventually make the trip... i was wandering about pedestal seats, heres my thoughts, can you use a molded folding seat like sold at fleet farm to be used as a pedestal seat on the casting deck? I would like to be able to move the seats around the boat... 2 seats in the rear bench while traveling to my hotspot, (will this be stabile enough to safely ride around on the drink, also with the seat offset to operate the tiller comfortably, if there isn't anyone else back there besides me will the boat ride true?) when i arrive i would like to remove one of the seats from the rear bench and elevate it on the casting deck. also the id like to reposition the offset seat in the rear to the center of the rear bench seat for stability issues. ((three mounting brackets in the rear bench, the two outer mounts for traveling and the middle for fishing stability when not moving))
3)have any of you ever spent the night out on the lake? when I'm fishing i enjoy drinking, i was thinking about a foldable stretcher to lay across the sides of the boat to sleep in

Look forward to seeing your build.

1) diamond plate will work fine but you need to carpet it or coat it with something. It will get very hot in the sun & also for sound issues.

2) seating idea sounds good to me.

3) never thought about it but I'm sure you could find a way to make it work. Extra stuff to carry with you though.
