I was provided a link to this site. I am redoing an older 14' John with tons of sentimental value. I have some before pics and how far along I am. I will have some questions along the way if thats ok. I am going to paint it grey. Put wood floor in it. In the process of prepping for primer, but before I do get that far I have to repair the wood in the transom. Note the three piece wood transom I removed. In hopes of making that one solid piece tomorrow evening. What do you think so far??

looks great so far, probably easier and better to make the transom one piece. What method did you use for stripping the paint?

I used paint stripper and a scraper then paint stripper and power washer. After every application of stripper it got scrubbed and power washed so as to not let it dry or sit very long on the aluminum. Worked out very good for me especially with all the rivets. Let the stripper sit about 10 minutes and power wash. Peeled it right off.

One question I have is the height extension. Is this something that may have come on the boat when new, or possibly made, or a option to buy and add?? It is definetly added, but looks manufactured. You can easily see the "original" height of the sides with the factory corners below this extension.

what kinda boat is that its cool looking i have never seen one like that. like the rude sitting off to the side, nice work :D the extra height is cool someone did a hell of a job with it, if it wasnt factory

The title says 1967 POLAR man id # S1440 possibly a polar kraft???
Boat has no markings at all anywhere, no tags, nothing. #-o

The little rude is my "cough cough" 9.9 hp 8) .................actually its a 15 hp that someone, not me, put 9.9 stickers on. It runs like a champ......

The extra height is puzzling. It "appears" to be possibly something as an option, or factory add on. BUT in 1967 were things like this even possible. Sorry fellers I was not hatched until 1971

Looks great so far. That paint stripping looks like a lot of work though.

Keep taking pictures!

Paint stripping has consumed probably 30 hrs so far. I have used $36.00 in stripper (wally world). All in all I am into this project aprox $150.00 so far. I am very excited about that.

I'll let the pictures do the talking. New wood, opened up the top cap entension to gain full turning radius. 1st Primer coat on.
