Ive been looking for a small bass fishing boat for a while and when i saw the youtube video of jon boat conversions by the members of this site I was shocked at how awesome these boats are with converted decks and livewells. Im looking for an old inexpensive boat to start a project. So anyone in the New England area who knows of anything let me know please. Thanks. :D

Welcome =D> Craigslist will be your new best friend :D

Welcome, I'm a newcomer myself, but I have a boat on Craigslist. Its not what you want though.

We also have some boats for sale in our "used boat yard" here on this site.

I have a suggestion for you about answering an ad on Craigslist.
Tell the guy where you are and ask where he is.
Thats one way to differentiate your query from the Scammers that seem to inhabit Craigslist.

I'll keep an eye out here in MA for anything that might fit what your looking for. What are you looking for? :LOL2:

Jon type boat? V-boat? Boat+Motor+Trailer Combo? Rough estimate of $$$ you want to spend?

Welcome ----- whre in New England??? Go to your profile and add your location - that helps a lot.....

im looking to spend no more than 600 on just a boat and trailer. I found one in MA for that price its a 1964 Sears/Sea Nymph 13'5" long 4'6" wide aluminum rowboat. What do you guys think? Can it be decked ?

Without a photo or a link we couldnt say for sure.
I have a V ALuminum. Its pretty tippy and real difficult to steer if you get too much weight up front over the V part.

If you get too much weight above the center of gravity, that includes a guy standing up on a Deck, the boat will tip. Keep that in mind.

A flat bottom Jon boat might be OK with a deck up front. Why are you so sure you need that decking? Or is it because it makes the boat look good?

If you can't find what you're looking for on craigslist, ebay is a good place to look also. You may have to drive a bit, but good deals are out there.
