I'd like to have the 70-300 also, but have to save my pennies.

x2!

Yeah, the pics look good, maybe a little out of focus on the last two, but that might be the camera settings/light sources. Otherwise they are good. Do you shoot offhand or with a tripod or? The 200 lense can take some really nice shots.

Thanks guys
I don't like the zoom range being 200...
I don't like that it doesn't V/R This is the mane reason. Most of the pics that were trash were shot were with the 200mm NO V/R..

The last two were shot with the 200mm at 200, my hand aren't so sure no more.So i need V/R....
All pics were shot in live view free hand.

As wasilvers mentioned, a tripod will assist greatly in taking static shots. Walmart here carries an inexpensive monopod that telescopes, for around $15.00, which I've thought about buying. It's collapsible, lightweight, and inexpensive. Could come in handy while walking around the lakefront and places.

I have one but have not used it .I like free hand as it is less to drag around.
Well i have here at the house of the boxers

I like to travel light myself. I've looked at my camera bag (it's small) and wondered how I could use some velcro straps to attach a small monopod, but haven't come up with anything. The best thing to do, if my camera gear ever increases (which will not be for a long time, lol) would be to buy one of those Lowepro style camera backpacks, which range in size I believe.

 Wow, prices are steep on a bag that would basically "grow" with additional gear. May have to checkout the shoulder carried versions.

Nice but no thanks.I will look around some as of this time not sure what i want.Walmart has one for about $50 but not sure. still looking.

That's a nice bag, and the regular price is $99. Thanks for the info! Saved it to my favorites :) . I ord'd a new lens from B&H this afternoon: Nikkor DX AF-S 55-200mm VR. Should be here Monday hopefully, if the nasty weather in NY doesn't cause any shipping problems.

yep :) . I had it delieved to work, because it req'd a signature from UPS, but we were out of school today because of the weather. There is usually a secretary at work on these days, so I checked the tracking# of the package and it said the lense had been delivered. So, I drove to the school (6 miles) to get it, but when I got there everyone was gone except a custodian. I got him to unlock the front office, retrieved the lense, then went home. Now I just need some decent weather to go test it out.
