Hello all- I live in So West Ga. I have an alumacraft 17' stick steer and want to modify the front deck. I plan to install another fishing seat to where I can operate the trolling motor by hand. I have located some aluminum sheet metal for $46/ sheet-4x8'. I need to know what gauge would be sufficient. Also, I saw some glue on decking pad like material but do not know where to locate that material-does anyone have knowledge? Thanks in advance. D

Afraid I can't help ya out on that one but I sure would like to know the answer for your question myself. I'm in the process of laying out for the floor and decking in my own build. I'm pretty sure someone on here will know the answer but be fore warned, LOL They/We like lots of pictures.

BTW, I'm in North West GA myself.
I used .125" for my floor and bow deck extension. I know alot of guys on here use thinner without any problems though. I'm happy I went with .125".
