New to the site and I'm starting my John Boat project

Hey Ya'll,

My name is Mark, I am a Fire fighter down in Georgia. I really like the site, I've learned alot looking through the ost of the past few weeks, but I bought a john boat for $75 bucks and it needs alot of TLC. I will try to post pics as I go, I'm not really sure exactly how I will deck it, but any input would help. It is almost 15 feet long and it is about 56 inches wide at the top.


I also have a trailer for it, I am going to sand blast it and prime and repaint it as well, but it's not pictured.

Welcome! Your boat looks as rough as mine did a couple weeks ago - I see you're transom is half apart. You've got some work to do there but $75 is not bad at all.

That size boat has been selling any where from $1500 to $2500,up here in SC.

Not meaning to high jack a thread, but where have you seen those prices? I have a 14 footer with galvenized trailer that I cant get half of what you have seen. Guess I am not listing in the right places. :?

I am speaking of a boat on a trailer, ready to fish with an out board.I live between 3 lakes and most boats are selling out of yards or CL for that much.They were selling for that when I was lookin mid summer.Since it has cooled down the past couple weeks,I'm sure prices are falling quickly.
