First off love the site. I am from central Iowa and love to bass fish.

I have been trying to soak up as much info as I am in the progress of gutting out my boat (2004, 16' Northwood Contender) to replace the floor, front deck and build a rear deck. I am pretty sure I am going to go aluminum vs wood and was wondering what grade and thickness of aluminum do i need to go with on the floor & casting decks? I am sure I have read it on here before but just don't recall.

Thanks for the help. I will start a thread on my rebuild once i get a little farther in to it & you can bet i'll have more questions come up.

I used .026 for my floor (in my first boat). That is thin, but it was also supported by my the closed cell foam I had under it so there wasn't any give when walking on it. I also wanted to go as light as I could because it is a jet boat.

Oh...and welcome to the Tinboat family. You're going to love it here!
