It was a slow trip but a great time. We stayed up until the wee hours the night before. I, of course, wanted to go fish the inlet and canal in Lewes. Well my crew was less then enthusiastic - except for Jimmy who is as crazed as me
We bedded down after 1 am and woke around 4 am - not a lot of sleep but enough.
Boat left the dock at 5 am and we headed to the Baltimore Canyon. Started trolling around the Teacup and soon thereafter hooked up with a nice Mahi. Fish hit the flat line right off the stern
Because this was Jake's 1st mahi we told him he had to eat the ballyhoo we used for bait I cannot believe he fell for that:
Things got slow again until Don Steptoo - that fine young athlete (????????) landed another big Mahi
I think the fish wore him out because the next thing I know he stopped singing and passed out
Jimmy turned a lovely shade of pale green right out of the inlet and spent the day looking for a cozy spot that was not moving
Nope - he tried another spot:
Here, Jimmy set up a nice chum slick in case of sharks!
And the Mahi jumps!
I wanted to stop and fish for stripers on the way home but Jake turned surly and said 'hell no!"
We had a blast!
