Im a beginner and on a learing experience starting with a 12ft free boat looking for advice

i got started framing the floor supports today still have some braces to drill, more riveting and more cutting to do

i learned to measure twice so you only have to cut once

i plan on putting a plywood top to walk on any suggestions on what i should use to coat wood with rivets with.
 
Good start, but I have some advice for you, run something up the sides to give the sides support or they will flex, especially with old aluminum. That's one reason riveted john boats have seats in three places to add to the stiffness of the sides. Push on the sides and see how much give they have and you'll see what I mean.
