I'm looking for a new battery for my TM. I hear optima is the best there is, so I'm looking into them. 200 is up there, but it will be worth it when I'm not filling it with water, and if it holds a good charge.

So I need some opinions before I make the purchase.. are they really that good? It seems they are only available in dual purpose only, and mine will be used strictly as a TM battery... is that a good application, of should I just go with a BPS brand AGM?

Thanks guy

oh and if you were wondering... my new 1648 is awesome!

There is a huge difference between agm and flooded... Its really a preference thing, If a agm is not charged properly it will be junk in no time, If a flooded battery is maintained it will last a long long time... there is only about 2 major battery manufacturers, only thing in price your paying for is a warranty... I have 2 flooded 31's in my boat and now 2 agm 31's. I got a total of about 75.00 in all 4... :) You can charge a agm with a standard battery on board charger, flooded and ag charge the same, it is the gel batterys that are real finicky...
