Panther 55 tilt trim problems

Hello all. Just bought a boat with a panther 55 tilt and trim. It worked when I bought it. Drove home 300kms and it's not working now. The trim sounds like it goes up and down but doesn't. I pulled the motor and actuator off and pulled out the piston. Inside looks like a large screw. It goes clockwise and counter clockwise when testing. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?
