I never heard of them before but was on there site today.
They make aluminum boats in Can.and U.S. it says?
There outboards are alot cheaper then other known brand names.I wonder if they are going to like them outboards that start with the letter T(can't remember spelling, theres a 18hp here)the run like champs.
Tohatsus

Basically, they are a very cheap Chinese made outboard. Any warranty they have is useless, as there are no dealers/service centers in the US, so you would have to ship to and from Canada at your expense for warranty work.

They ship spare parts right in the box with it new. That shows dependability.

In fact, most models aren't even legal in the US. Only the 5 and the 15 horse motors have passed EPA requirements, so anything else is shipped here illegally, and I am betting that not all of the 5s and 15s are here legally. Read "contraband."

Go to youtube, and type in Parsun outboard, and listen to a few of them run. If you were considering one before hearing them, I can almost guarantee you will rule them out after hearing them run.

So, you have a dirt cheap motor made in a 3rd world communist country, with NO service centers anywhere in the US, that must be shipped to Canada for warranty work, doesn't even meet EPA specs, which means it is shipped here on the black market, and is so reliable that spare parts are included in the box. Sounds like an excellent deal to me.....

I have also heard that in Europe, where these things are a little more popular, that after 10 hours of runtime, these outboards depreciate to the same value as a 25 year old Evinrude of the same horsepower. Wonder what that says.

And no, this isn't biased due to me being an Evinrude guy. That was just the only brand that was compared in the source I got that from.

LOL.you probably right,although I'm in Canada.
Theres an indepentant reveiw on the 15hp I just finished watching and your going to like this, they compared it to a Johnson 15hp:).They more or less said in Australia(where reviewed)probably in 2012,2 strokes will be banned and your buying old technology. They said they motor was fine other then that.

I havn't seen one in person but have seen some of those cheap 4 wheelers and off road bikes,if there anything like that,I'd stay far away. The thing that caught my eye was a brand new 40hp for $2500,thats more then a thrid off up here, maybe close to half price.

Think I'll youtube and hear some more, forgot about youtube ,thanks.
Just read your latest post, thanks again for the heads up.

Since you're in Canada check out APS. https://www.advancepowersports.ca/Products/index.html They are getting noticed in the US and should be setting up shop around CA and US very soon.
